I started Born Smiling in 2014, offering Hypnobirthing classes to expectant couples as they prepare for labour and birth.  As more and more couples asked me to support them beyond classes, I decided to train as a Birth and Postnatal Doula in 2018 enabling me to provide further support to couples through labour and birth and into those early weeks with a new baby

Hypnobirthing

Through my Hypnobirthng classes I dispel the myths around childbirth and show you how to release fears and anxieties you may have around giving birth.  This is a complete antenatal education programme where you will learn about labour and birth and what is happening within your body, as well as self-hypnosis, relaxation and breathing techniques for a better birth.

Doula Services

As a mentored Birth Doula, registered with Doula UK, I am available to support you and your partner from your preparation for labour and birth right through to meeting your new baby.  In addition to this, I am also a mentored Postnatal Doula with Doula UK and so am able to offer you support during those first weeks with your little one too.

Closing the Bones

Closing the Bones is a traditional postnatal ritual originating from Ecuador.  I was passed the gift of this beautiful ritual by Sophie Messager, who received her gift from Rocio Alacron, a midwife from Ecuador.  While Closing the Bones is traditionally a postnatal ritual, it is also a beautiful ritual that honours the body (& bones) of a woman who may have lost a baby or who has experienced loss, shock, trauma or anxiety in any area of her life.

Trauma Release

Sometimes our experience of birth or breastfeeding can leave us with difficult feelings. The MAM 3 Step Rewind Technique is a gentle and safe way to work with you to lift the difficult feelings that can remain after a difficult or traumatic birth, postnatal or breastfeeding trauma, or any other perinatal trauma.
